The BBC Radio Bristol Alive Appeal
We’re thrilled to announce that Alive has been chosen to be BBC Radio Bristol’s charity partner.
The 'BBC Radio Bristol Alive Appeal' is going to help us to raise support and vital funds, so we can reach more older people across Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset. This exciting partnership will be on air until December 2018.
Over the next few months BBC Radio Bristol presenters will be visiting care homes and day centres, where they'll talk to some of the incredible older people taking part in Alive activity sessions. There’s so much in store and you can follow us on this amazing journey by liking us on Facebook, following us on Twitter and listening to BBC Radio Bristol.
For many older people – loneliness and isolation are a fact of life. Adapting to life in a care home can be overwhelming. People can find themselves feeling alone in unfamiliar surroundings. For those still living at home - day centres provide a crucial link to the outside world.
We need to raise £50,000 this year. The money will fund 300 activity sessions and pay for the vital kit which we need to make that time so special.
Your support will mean ‘The BBC Radio Bristol Alive Appeal’ can change the lives of older people.
