Best Practice Guides
Alive and Bristol City Council, in consultation with local Bristol Care Homes, have produced two Best Practice Guides, one for Care Home Managers and one for Care Staff.
We all know that positive relationships between residents, Care Staff and relatives are at the heart of good care. As a care professional, you have a vital role to play in nurturing the positive interactions which lead to these close relationships. The Alive Best Practice Guides provide simple, practical ideas that can make a big difference in developing an even greater relationship-centered approach in your care home.
The Care Home Manager's guide provides an introduction to relationship-centered care and gives ideas for putting this into practice in your Care Home.
The Care Staff guide offers practical ideas and examples of how to make a difference to each person you care for as you go about your working day/night.
The Care Home Manager's guide is designed to accompany the guide for Care Staff, which offers practical ideas for engaging with residents and getting to know them when undertaking their care work. We have already received great feedback and comments, that the care staff guide is an excellent induction tool as well as a great resource for ongoing training.
We hope you will find these guides useful in creating an even greater positive culture in your care home where your residents live happy, fulfilled and purposeful lives.
