Technology is playing a greater role in keeping people connected with others and the community around them. However, for many older people this can be a real challenge. As we move toward a more technology enabled world, with many services only available online, we need to ensure older people are able to access opportunities and services and aren’t left isolated. We have a couple of initiatives to support older people in getting online and furthering their tech skills.

Tech To Connect Tamar Court, Worle

We have a group of amazing volunteers who can help and support you with any tech queries you may have. Bring along your piece of tech, whether it’s a phone, a laptop, iPad or other tablet, and our volunteers will help you access that app you’ve wanted, or find the photos you’ve lost or write that article you’ve wanted to. Come and have a coffee, a chat and learn with our tutors.

When? Mondays and Tuesdays, 11am – 12.30pm

To book your place please either email t2c-tuition@aliveactivities.org or call 07776 278388, or pop in to Tamar Court to fill in a registration form.

Tea and Tech – WERN

We are currently working in partnership with WERN to deliver sessions across North Somerset to support older people to increase their skills and knowledge around all things tech. Supported by tea and cake, the sessions are accessible and fun and ensure attendees feel welcomed and supported.  We are working with Parish Councils, Village Halls & Hubs, and Community Buildings and engaging with Social Prescribers & other partners, ensuring these sessions are community-led and sustainable.

To find out times and dates please contact tina@wern.org.uk.
