Guy first became involved with Alive as a volunteer at our Growing Support gardening sessions, and soon became passionate and enthusiastic about our work. Whilst volunteering, he realised both how much he enjoyed meeting people who loved gardening as much as he did and how rewarding it was kindling a love of green-fingered activities in people who may not have previously realised the therapeutic benefits of horticultural endeavours. So when a vacancy as a facilitator with Alive became available, it made perfect sense to him to apply for it – and he has been involved with our organisation ever since.

A keen allotmenteer with a strong sense of the power of community Guy is excited to be involved with setting up Bristol’s first dementia-friendly allotment – something he hopes will be a model for many more to come.

When not at the allotment Guy can probably be found either upside down doing handstands, tending his ever-expanding houseplant collection, or helping out with the organisation of both Bristol Seed Swap and East Bristol Hops Collective.
