Activities & Sessions Facilitator
Mike is an experienced educational professional, musician, and facilitator, with a strong background in inclusive education, creative arts, and wellbeing.
He draws on many years’ expertise in delivering percussion workshops at schools, businesses, carnivals, festivals, and community-building events.
He is skilled in designing and delivering engaging programmes that promote participation, confidence, and social interaction among diverse groups, including individuals with learning disabilities, vulnerable young people, and community members of all ages.
By inspiring creativity and confidence, and supporting memory, movement, and connection, Mike sees how drumming unites through shared rhythm and energy. It fosters teamwork, mindfulness, and belonging in every setting – from care homes and classrooms to community events and corporate environments.
Mike’s goal is to create spaces where everyone can experience the transformative power of drumming. This vision led to his creation of the Moves to Grooves programme, which emphasizes rhythm, expression, and the joy of movement, inviting participants to engage both physically and musically.
Mike creates and leads his dynamic Afro-Cuban drum and dance workshops, combining rhythm, movement, and wellbeing. Using congas, bongos, maracas, bells, chimes, and shakers, these sessions deliver inclusive, culturally-rich experiences to encourage physical engagement and creativity in participants of all ages and abilities.
