Leave a gift in your Will

The UK’s population is ageing and by 2025 the number of people living will dementia is expected to rise to 1.14 million.

The earlier we can plan for the future, the better and more secure our future will be.

Leaving Alive a gift in your Will enables us to light up the lives of older people living with dementia in care settings, to enjoy their life to its full potential. Your gift could provide high quality activity sessions that include music, poetry, quizzes, art, dance and much more, which assist older people to feel a sense of worth, to be a part of their community, to remember important parts of their life, and to keep loneliness, social isolation, boredom and depression at bay.

“Thank you for a wonderful afternoon, I've laughed so much I've got tears running down my face! Thank you for everything". Sheila.

Phyllis, "It's lovely to have someone to talk to".

Alive aims to change the culture of care within care settings, training care staff and carers to develop their skills and have the confidence to engage better with older people in their care.

“Alive and the work they carry out is fantastic, not only are they teaching new skills but they are bringing young people in the home and enabling the two generations to engage positively with one another which is very inspiring to see". Care manager

Making a Will is about ensuring your wishes are carried out. When you take your home, belongings and savings into account, you may be surprised at the value of your estate. Having an up-to-date, professionally-written Will gives you the chance to put your affairs in order and avoids any confusion after your death.

Every gift in every Will, however large or small, is vital to the care of older people and is an amazing way to continue your support long into the future.

After providing for your family and friends, leaving a legacy to Alive in your Will can make a lasting difference towards putting older people’s mental health and wellbeing at the heart of care in the UK.

If you have already written a Will, then Alive can still be incorporated into it by the simple addition of a codicil. Please ask your solicitor how this can be done.  Legacies received by the charity are generally exempt from Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax, which could mean your loved ones have less inheritance tax to pay.

If you leave a gift to Alive it is important to put our registered charity number 1132708 to avoid any confusion. We would love to know if you decide to leave a gift in your Will, sharing your intentions will help us plan for the future and it also means we can thank you.
