Fancy yourself a bit green-fingered, or want to try something new? Why not help out in our community gardens, dementia-friendly allotment, or care home sessions and bring a smile to someone’s face?
We are looking for friendly and reliable volunteers who enjoy nature-based activities and love to be outside to assist with our ‘Green’ Support sessions. These gardening sessions allow older people – many of who have been isolated, or live with dementia or other chronic disabilities and illnesses – to engage with the community and enjoy some gardening.
Activities are varied and may involve planting seeds, repotting plants, pruning, making ‘green’ crafts, and similar activities. There’s lots to learn! No prior experience is needed.
We run sessions during the week at our dementia-friendly allotment in Brenty, at Blaise Weston Court extra-care facility in Lawrence Weston, at the Wellspring Settlement in Barton Hill, and in care homes in and around Bristol. Please find an overview of dates and times here.
