Fancy yourself a bit green-fingered or want to learn more about gardening? Then volunteering at our Social and Therapeutic Horticulture sessions might be for you.

We are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers who enjoy spending time in nature to support our Social and Therapeutic Horticulture sessions. Sessions are led by trained facilitators and allow our participants, many of whom are older and live with dementia, to reconnect with nature.

Activities vary depending on the season – there will be lots to learn! No gardening expertise is needed; we only ask that you bring empathy, patience and curiosity.

We run sessions during the workweek at:

Please see an overview of the current timetable here.

If you fancy growing hops and brewing beer, you might also want to join our Hoppiness Project in care homes across Bristol.

We offer training and reimburse expenses.

Please email our Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@aliveactivities.org or give us a call on 0117 377 4756 for more information and to apply.

We’re looking forward to having you on board!
