Building Mental Health Resilience Project Manager

The Role

This role (contracted for 3 days a week) is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Alive’s growing community work. This St. Monica’s trust funded role has the potential to support hundreds of older people to manage their mental health more effectively, while exploring different wellbeing practices. 


Overall Job Purpose: 

  • To coordinate the ‘Building Mental Health Resilience’ Project and see through from beginning to end 
  • To work with community groups to develop training courses that help them understand how to manage and improve their own mental health  
  • Work with wellbeing practitioners to test and trial therapies popular with older people 
  • Work with our internal videography and design teams to produce training resources 
  • Work with our Volunteer Co-Ordinator to train volunteers to deliver this training past project end.

One Good Turn Project Officer (Maternity Cover)

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional person to be our One Good Turn Project Officer (contracted for 2 days a week). The One Good Turn project is currently one of the biggest and most successful intergenerational projects in the South West. This expansion of the project, working with sovereign housing, will give the post holder scope to work with the community to develop innovative and exciting social action projects. 

Overall Job Purpose: 

  • To continue, coordinate and close Alive’s ‘One Good Turn Project’ Funded by Sovereign Housing
  • To set up ‘One Good Turn’ Community development initiatives. Encouraging intergenerational social action projects across Bristol, working primarily with Sovereign residents 
  • To develop Alive’s intergenerational work in the Bristol area.

Dementia Meeting Centre Manager, North Somerset

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional person to be our first Meeting Centre Manager (contracted for 3 days a week). We firmly believe in the Meeting Centre concept, where support is provided to the person living with dementia and their carer in a warm and friendly community environment.

Experienced at working with people living with dementia, you will have strong interpersonal skills, be highly empathetic, have a positive outlook and a collaborative approach to achieving goals.  But mostly you will be passionate about dementia care and improving post-diagnostic support. 

You will be client facing for 3 days a week, 5 hours per day. You will manage two staff and work with the Alive team to recruit volunteers.  You will be responsible for the day to day running, from budget monitoring, to liaising with families and partner organisations. You will be involved in evaluating the impact of the Meeting Centre for attendees.

Volunteer Coordinator

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional communicator and organiser to join us as a Volunteer Coordinator (contracted for 3 days a week). You will recruit, train, coordinate and support our amazing team of volunteers, enabling them to help older people participate in our gardening and creative arts activities in both care homes and the community. Experienced at working with volunteers, you will have strong interpersonal and networking skills, a positive outlook and a collaborative approach to achieving goals. 

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious charity in a sector with huge need. You will become part of a highly motivated group of staff keen to make a difference to the lives of older people.
