Talking to Care Homes, we know what an incredible job the staff have done in dealing with the challenges of COVID-19. We know each home has faced different and very difficult challenges. As a result, we are launching our Activity Cupboard – a support forum for Activity Coordinators to provide ideas and inspiration, support and encouragement in these difficult times.
Our Activity Cupboard will be a two-hour forum, designed to give Activity Coordinators the support they need to keep bringing meaningful engagement to their residents. Run on Zoom, the forum will be accessible to all, meaning you don’t have to travel, but will come away with ideas and inspiration and new contacts.
There will be time to network with others, to share the challenges, frustrations and difficulties of the last few months, but also the opportunity to gain some fresh motivation to take back to your care home.
We are also launching the Managers Forum. This will be a short forum, 45 – 60 mins, to see how you can prioritise activity and engagement with your residents. The mental health and wellbeing of residents is so important as we begin to move on from COVID-19 and it is vital that Care Homes are supporting staff to provide person-centred engagement. We will share ideas and allow time to network.
Both of these forums are delivered in conjunction with Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Service.
