With a background in community engagement and facilitation, including working with people living with dementia and their carers, Sam’s approach is collaborative to ensure everyone benefits from taking part.

Sam returned to her love of dancing and music in early 2024 by retraining as a community dance practitioner. She is qualified in delivering exercise to music and specialises in leading dance sessions for older adults in particular people with a limited range of movement.

Having performed in chorus lines in her younger years she is now on a mission to share her love of dancing with as many people as possible. Her sessions include a mix of music reminiscence and guided movement to music enabling people to enjoy dancing in a safe and supported way, either seated or standing depending on individual capabilities.

In addition to working with Alive, Sam collaborates with a wide range of organisations from dementia charity ReMind to Golden Oldies to the National Trust to share the joy of moving to music. If Sam isn’t eating or sleeping she is usually dancing!
