“Alive’s excellent training has given me so many ideas! I can’t wait to put them into practice in my care home.”

Throughout May, our Services Manager Nicola has been enjoying training the Wellbeing Team from Cedar Care Homes at their new home, Arbour Walk, as part of their comprehensive staff development training programme, running our “Lifestory Work”, “Living Well with Later Stage Dementia” and “Building Ties with your Community” training days for them. It felt so good to be back out training face to face again after such a long time. Nicola is looking forward to doing more sessions.

Nicola has also completed the first face-to-face Alive Coaching programme since before lockdown. At The Leonard Elms in Congresbury, she trained and coached four members of the team, and as a result they are now exploring multi-sensory environments and the calming influence they have for people who are distressed. So far, it has been a great success, and the team have been fired-up and inspired to take the training ideas further.

Alive are also pleased to be able to offer our free Activity Audits for care homes in Bristol, Weston Super Mare and South Gloucestershire. These audits enable us to have a thorough look at your activity provision and show you ways that you can take your activities to the next level. They also link in with the CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOE’s). If you would like us to visit your care home and audit your activity provision, please give us a call on (0117) 377 47 56  or email info@aliveactivities.org.
